Join Us in Making Mental Health Care Accessible to All

Hey there Reader,

As we approach the end of the year, we’re reflecting on the tremendous impact we’ve made together at Harbor Christian Counseling. This year, our team has served 842 clients—individuals, children, couples, and families—and provided nearly 10,000 counseling sessions. Each of those represents a moment of hope, healing, and growth in someone’s life.

Today, we’re launching our year-end giving campaign, Invest in Healing, and we invite you to join us in making mental health care accessible to all.

Many of the people we have served this year were only able to receive care because of financial assistance. We are committed to helping anyone and everyone who needs it, regardless of their means. But as our reach grows, the need for this kind of financial support grows as well.

The average cost of a therapy session is $120. Our scholarship program helps to offset these costs depending on each person’s needs. By committing to a monthly donation of $60, $120, or $180—or any amount you feel inspired to give—you can directly support individuals, couples, and even entire families needing faith-based mental health care who otherwise would not be able to afford it.

$60/month

Covers the monthly cost of counseling for an INDIVIDUAL with acute needs, allowing them to gain stability and begin the healing process.

$120/month

Offers counseling support for a COUPLE in crisis, who require an intensive degree of care but cannot make it work financially on their own.

$180/month

Provides a lifeline of counseling services for an entire FAMILY with multiple complex needs, allowing them to heal and grow as a family despite the many barriers that would otherwise stand in their way.

Join us in offering hope and healing for mental health

In a world with so many barriers to receiving care, let’s work together to overcome those barriers and make biblically informed, gospel driven, clinically skilled counseling more accessible for all.

Together,

From both a scientific and biblical perspective, we know that long periods of loneliness and isolation are not great for us. And yet, loneliness is also a common part of the human experience - increasingly so in a world that’s become so heavily dependent on technology for connection and communication. In light of this, how can we begin to understand and cope with feelings of loneliness? First, we must recognize that loneliness and being alone are not necessarily one and the same. Being alone...

When thinking about counseling, the image that often comes to mind is a one-on-one setting, counselor and client. Therapy is thought of as a private endeavor which affords space to dive into the inner world of thoughts and feelings. While this exclusive attention and focus on the individual self can be helpful, most of life happens with others. Whether family and friends, spouse or coworkers, our concept of who we are doesn’t exist in a therapeutic vacuum, but rather is negotiated in groups....

Did you know that 65% of our clients receive some form of financial assistance? Through scholarships, sliding scale fees, and partnerships with churches, we work hard to ensure that no one is turned away due to financial need. As we near the end of 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible growth and impact we’ve seen at Harbor Christian Counseling this year. Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to expand our services and make a real difference in the lives of so many....
